For new overhead electric service, MG&E will furnish and install cable to the point of attachment at the customer's service entrance at no cost, provided the total distance does not exceed 150 feet. For longer distances, you will be billed for the additional labor and materials required to make the connection. 

For new underground electric service, the customer must provide all the conduits, conductors, pullboxes and terminal box according to applicable electric codes and MG&E specifications. MG&E will make the final connection at no charge. 

To stop your gas or electric service, you'll need to visit our office at 32 South Main St., Middleborough, fax us the disconnect information, or send us a letter. Be sure to give us a forwarding address where we can send your final bill, or any possible refund.

If you need your gas or electric meter moved in order to complete a project such as residing your home, call us at 508-947-3023 for movement of your electric meter and at 508-947-1535 for any work around your gas meter and we will take care of it. Call us back when you are finished to reinstate your service. There is no fee for this service.

If you are leaving for a long period of time and want your gas or electric service disconnected, you must make a written request and sign a waiver either by mail, fax or in person at our office. You will pay a turn-off fee for both electric and gas service at that time. Service will be resumed when you request. When service is resumed, there will be no turn-on fees for both gas and electric service.
