How to sign for service
To start your gas or electric service, call us at 508-947-1371 or drop by our office at 32 South Main St., Middleborough. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.
All customers must complete and sign a service application either by mail, fax or in person at our office. In addition to your signature, you will need to provide your Social Security number and a driver's license or photo i.d.
Buying a home? Please sign up at least three working days before the closing so that we can create a final bill for the seller.
Renting a home? We’ll need at least one day's notice before you would like your service to start. In most instances, service can start within 24 hours.
No security deposits required! However, if you have an outstanding balance from another MG&E account, you must make arrangements to pay that balance before new service is started.

Closing Your Account
If you are selling your home, we will need at least three working days notice before the closing so that we can read the meter and create a final bill. There is no fee for this service. A word of caution — billing will remain in your name until a
written notice to terminate is received by our office.
There is no charge to install your Gas & Electric Meters!
