MG&E Board of Commissioners
Terrence Murphy was elected to the Board in 2005. He is a staff member of the Bristol Plymouth Vocational Technical School in Taunton. He has served in the Massachusetts Air Force National Guard as a pilot trainee. He earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in 1967 and an M.A. from the University of New Mexico in 1971. He has lived in Middleborough for 17 years with his wife of 39 years.
Thomas Murphy was elected to the Board in 2007. He is a staff member of the Coalition for the Homeless in Massachusetts. He is also an active member of the Mitchell Memorial Club. He has worked as a contractor for Raytheon and for the City of Boston in business management for the Public School system. He also, currently, works with Comcast local access programming helping to produce local programming. He earned a B.S. from the Boston College School of Management in 1975 in computer science/accounting. He has lived in Middleborough for 8 years..
Joseph Ranahan was elected to the Board in 2008. He is the energy manager for Northeastern University in Boston, where he works on energy procurement, energy conservation and efficiency initiatives. He earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University in 2005. He is a member of the Association of Energy Engineers and has earned certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP) and Certified Sustainable Development Professional (CSDP). He has lived in Middleborough for 5 years with his wife Melissa and their son Jared.
Michael Solimini was elected to the Board in 2010. He is a Mechanical Engineer for a local company that develops sustainable packaging. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute, and an MBA from Suffolk University. He has lived in Middleboro for 20 years and has also served as a Conservation Commissioner and Charter Study Committee member for the town of Middleboro. He and his wife of 21 years, Mary Ellen, have two daughters, Megan and Emily.
Donald R. Triner was elected to the Board in 2002. He is currently serving as a member of the American Public Gas Association Gas Policy Council. He is a retired manager of Customer Service for the Commonwealth Gas Company. He is an active member of the Shriners, the Daniel Webster Masonic Lodge and the Veterans’ Council in Middleborough. He also serves as the Clerk of the Works for the Middleborough Veterans’ Memorial Park Committee and Commander of the Oak Point Veterans’ Association. He is past President of the Middleborough Rotary. From 1959 to 1962, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Storekeeper 2nd Class. He holds an Associate’s degree from Northeastern University in Highway Engineering. He has lived in Middleborough since 2001 with Betty, his wife of nearly 50 years. Together, they have 4 grown children.
